Beneath the Surface - The Human Condition

Mental health issues are often explored in art and victims of the many conditions that exist find a sense of peace in creating art work about their feelings.

Emotions are often unseen. Many artists have explored the effects different types of emotions have on the visual qualities of the face or body and how they might look when they surface.

People all over the world try to portray their stories of imaginary friends that lead to something much darker; voices in their heads or just a two sided personality.

Fear is something that is individual to everyone. Each person will have unique fears that might include things that can be seen or not seen. Exploring beneath the surface of this you would need to consider how the fear effects the human condition.

Disease and illness is something that all people will have experienced in their life. Whether it be themselves, parents or grandparents, some exposure to it will most likely have occurred in your lifetime.

In the world we live in with social media and television we are often exposed to the perfect lifestyles of celebrities and fame. This project could lead in the direction of exploring the true people behind closed doors or the impact of the media and tabloid stories on them.
