'No form of nature is inferior to art; for the arts just imitate natural forms.'

Beneath the Surface - Natural Forms

The inside of fruit and vegetables can open a new world of senses. Through scents to pattern, colour and symmetry.

Leaves come in many different shapes and sizes. At their most fragile and brittle leaves are very beautiful as you are able to inspect the formation of the stems and bones that form a leaf skeleton.

Whether they be tree roots or flower root they could form an interesting investigation as their depths are often unknown and the direction in which they grow and form very much depends on the ground.

Layers in natural forms are everywhere. They could be found in trees, flower petals, fruit and vegetables. Peeling back the layers to reveal the inside could be an option.

Natural forms are often filled with different textures. The textures through layers or underneath layers are varied and could form a personal investigation.
