Beneath the Surface - Structures

The undergrounds are highly populated areas that hold many dangers and art works. They could also be viewed by the artist as hugely appealing as a source, due to the symmetry and senses seen inside.

Architectural structures are more regularly being left visible to the human eye once the project is complete. In most modern architecture the steel lines and joins are part of the beauty.

Using the structures theme we could consider looking inside family homes and the hidden gems that might have been stored in lofts and attics for many years, this could lead to a dark and mysterious project.

'Brushed under the carpet' is popular saying for when people are trying to hide something. This is an interesting take on the theme and could lead in many original outcomes.

Tunnels are all around us in there many different forms, from the eurotunnel to small tunnels under the motorway. These have been used as areas for graffiti or as a hideaway for homeless people.
'The art of architecture studies not structure in itself, but the effect of structure on the human spirit.'
